In this post, I present the Brazilian band that was formed in 1980, called Dollar Company, or better Dollar Co. It was composed by singer Dave Maclean and the Munhoz brothers (Dorian and Anderson) and its proposal was to play country music.
The making of two Beatles tribute albums was the highlight of the group's 15-year career. Later, it would be called Silver Dollar.
For those who don't know, Dave Maclean started musically at the age of five. However, his professional career began in 1969 with a dance band called "Os Botões". Later, he started recording in English, after receiving a proposal from TV Globo, to record themes for soap operas (example: Me and You).
At the time, he achieved the feat of simultaneously having four songs in the top ten of the Mexican hits chart, in addition to being successful in countries such as the Philippines, Ecuador, Panama, Portugal, USA, Spain, France and England.
With several hits such as: Me and you (theme for the soap opera "Ossos do Barão"), Tears (written by singer Christian), Feelings and We said goodbye (which won gold records in Brazil and Mexico), recorded with João Alberto on bass and Mario Testoni on keyboards, both from the band "Os Pholhas".
In this post, I present the first Beatles tribute album, which in my opinion has interesting arrangements in the proposed style. It was released in 1980, by the record label RGE, with the label Pick.
Later, it would be re-released in 1994, by the record company Som Livre, in Compact Disc - CD format. In 1986, the group would release volume 2.
The songs that make up the disc are as follows:
01. Hey Jude / Something;02. Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da / If needed someone / Here comes the sun;03. And I love her;04. I want to hold your hand;05. Eight days a week;06. Get back;07. Help;08. With a little help from my friends / Yesterday;09. A hard day's night;10. Let it be;11. Lucy in the sky with diamonds;12. I should have know better.
